What does GTE look for in a Financial Advisor?
Expertise:
Maintain a high level of financial industry knowledge about the current market/economic conditions, compliance, and product knowledge.
Assess, and establish policies and procedures to ensure compliance with a broad range of SEC, FINRA, and broker-dealer requirements.
Monitor/analyze reports and convey results to a broad audience to make recommendations for their financial needs.
Sales:
Cultivate strong working relationships and build trust among credit union staff and members and other business lines within the credit union.
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills to effectively communicate with management, staff, and outside contacts.
Follow established policies and procedures of ethical market conduct. Conduct business according to high standards of honesty, fairness, and integrity, as well as render service to customers in a manner consistent with what we would demand.
Implement the phases of a marketing plan to consistently generate a minimum of 10-15 new sales appointments per week with members.
Follow the sales process and procedures established by GTE Investment Group and the broker/dealer.
Follow the established insurance and securities compliance guidelines and strictly adhere to all company policies.
Meet or exceed the minimum gross dealer concession standards along with a diversified and balanced product mix of business. Meet credit union cross-selling goals.
Operations:
Follow the established guidelines for maintaining books and records by company practices and FINRA requirements.
Work is substantially complex and varied and requires the interpretation of technical and detailed guidelines, policies, and procedures. Analytical ability is needed to gather and interpret data where answers can be found only after careful analysis of several facts. Problems typically require significant analysis and judgment.
Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Attend and participate in staff meetings, various credit union functions, and all required training and informational meetings.
Must demonstrate functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and other Federal laws, including but not limited to the U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, and Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
Required Qualifications:
College degree preferred or high school diploma with equivalent work experience.
Min 3-5 years of experience with at least 2 years of proven success and experience in financial services sales.
Minimum commission income history of $75,000 annually over the last two years.
Life/Health Insurance License must obtain within 90 days of employment.
FINRA Registration: Series 7 is required, and Series 65/66 must obtain within 90 days of employment.
LUTCF, CLU, ChFC, or CFP designation or working towards the completion preferred.
Commitment to a consultative sales approach along with building meaningful recurring revenue.
Position Details:
Location: Tampa
Department Hours: Monday– Friday (9:00 am to 6:00 pm)
Full-time hours are required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.
Required for Remote Work:
A quiet workplace so you can focus on delivering excellent service to our members.
Must live in a location that can leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
Minimum download speed is 50 MB/s, preferred 100 MB/s.
Candidates must provide and meet all technical requirements prior to the first day of training.
Candidates must live within driving distance of the office location and be able to commute regularly to and from the office location as needed.
