Position Overview
The Investment Advisor serves as the lead advisor/relationship manager for personal financial planning clients. They manage client relationships and are responsible for providing financial planning and investment advice. They are also expected to generate prospects and develop new client relationships for the firm.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to
Maintain client relationships by regularly communicating and periodically meeting with personal financial planning clients.
Prepare and deliver financial plans to clients.
Analyze clients’ time horizons and risk tolerances to make investment advisory recommendations for clients’ portfolios.
Answer questions, troubleshoot problems, and provide high levels of client support and service.
Write blogs, presentations, FAQs, etc. on topics relevant to current and prospective personal financial planning clients.
Develop relationships with prospective financial planning clients and generate new personal financial planning clients for the firm.
Maintain compliance with Multnomah Group’s Policies and Procedures and Code of Ethics.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience
5+ years of experience in the financial planning or wealth management industry
Eligible and able to maintain active and valid U-4 registration in the State of Oregon within 90 days of hire. U-4 registration requires passage of FINRA Series 65 exam (or combination equivalent to Series 65 exam).
CFP or PFS certification required
Demonstrated knowledge of financial planning topics such as retirement planning, estate planning, and tax planning
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Goal-oriented and self-motivated to achieve objectives
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships across the organization and with clients / prospective clients
