We’re looking for a dynamic leader and financial strategist to direct innovative long-range strategies designed to help us achieve initiatives, priorities and goals of our Revenue Integrity and Denials Management departments. This role will allow you to:
Align strategies with the overall mission and vision of UF Health.
Oversee the development and implementation of organization-wide charge capture processes, productivity and clinical documentation audits to support billing/reimbursements. This includes RAC audits, charging education/training, hospital service department charge capture functions monitoring, and denials mitigation and management.
Provide strategic planning and direction for our Revenue Integrity department.
We’re seeking a director with the following:
Bachelor's degree in finance, financial management, finance administration, HIM, nursing, hospital administration or information system management. Master's degree preferred.
Coding certification (CPC, CPC-P, CPC-H) or certification in auditing and/or health care compliance preferred, or obtain/be working towards certification within one year of hire. HFMA-certified health care financial professionals are preferred.
A minimum of seven or more years of experience in a large, integrated health system, academic medical center or related organization with at least three years of experience in a management-level capacity.
Significant experience in revenue cycle operations with a proven track record in implementing new strategies in revenue cycle that result in operational efficiencies and quantitative improvements.
Knowledge of various hospital and professional fee coding systems, including ICD-9/10-CM, CPT and HCPCS. Experience working with Epic is preferred.
Knowledge of the content, structure and maintenance of the charge master and fee schedule.
Must possess strong understanding of various reimbursement methodologies with expert knowledge of payer billing requirements in the hospital facility environment.
Outstanding directing abilities and a demonstrated track record of leadership and performance.
Strong executive presence, including communication skills that enable appreciation of others' perspectives and the ability to offer compelling insights and recommendations.
Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate all aspects of a problem or opportunity and draw valid conclusions to make or facilitate appropriate and timely decisions.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
