Gardey Financial Advisors (www.gardey.com), a fast-growing, fee-only financial advisory firm located in Saginaw, MI is seeking a Financial Advisor. This position is the primary relationship manager and has responsibility for managing existing client relationships and formulating and implementing advice. The Financial Advisor is expected to develop new client relationships for the firm and supervise other staff in client service delivery.
This is a professional position in a client-focused environment and requires knowledge of financial planning and great client service. We are a growing firm, and we are looking for an Advisor who can take on firm clients as we continue to grow.
Work with the Customer Service Associate to develop and deliver comprehensive financial plans focusing on cash flow, taxes, investment strategy, retirement, estate planning, and risk management
Conduct in-depth client interviews to gather personal financial data and to formulate planning goals
Work with existing and new clients on the implementation of their financial plan, in conjunction with support team members
Meet with clients and prospects to analyze and/or update their financial needs
Delegate non-advisory follow-up work to other appropriate team members
Develop new business by participating in community events, organizations, networking, as well as develop and deliver seminars and making speaking appearances
Participate in the planning and execution of client-related events
Participate as a member of the Investment Committee
Maintain a high level of effectiveness and clarity in written and verbal communication
Work effectively in a team environment with the willingness to share information, find solutions and develop new skills, processes, and knowledge from within the group
Manage or participate in other firm-wide projects as assigned
Train, develop, and mentor Customer Service Associate
Recommend changes for internal process improvement
Maintain an all-hands-on-deck mentality to support the firm’s superior client service
Keep current on economic, market and political conditions
Keep current on compliance, regulatory and legal knowledge
Educate clients on their portfolios
Monitor client accounts
Effectively and efficiently utilize firm technology
Experience with Redtail CRM, MoneyGuidePro & Orion a PLUS but not required!
Salary & Benefits:
Starting salary of $65,000-80,000 per year, based on experience. Benefits include, health insurance (firm shares premium expense with employee), 3% 401(k) contribution, vacation, PTO.

Certified Financial Planner (CFP) licensee or candidate OR you must be willing to begin working on your CFP designation immediately OR have commensurate experience in another financial advisory or wealth management firm.
3-5 years of experience in a similar role
Bachelor’s degree required
Familiar with financial concepts, investment products, portfolio analysis, goal setting and cash flow
Aspirations for a long-term career

Ability to identify, meet, and follow through with clients’ needs and requirements
Must be a self-starter and a problem solver
Must interact effectively with office staff and be a goal-oriented team player
Strong attention to detail
Strong computer and tech skills. You may be given a Microsoft Office skills assessment
Qualified candidates will start the process by having a 15-30-minute phone interview conducted by our consultant who is the hiring manager for this position. If there is ground to move forward, you will be required to fill out a Career History Form and if you are selected to advance in the process, you will meet with the firm. Qualified candidates will be asked to take assessments. A background and credit check will be required.
